The Strenx 700 family covers SSAB high-strength structural steels. The manufacturer describes a guaranteed minimum yield strength of 650–700 MPa, depending on product and thickness. This range is not common to every Strenx grade.
Products such as 700MC, 700MC Plus and 700 D/E differ in delivery condition, formability and impact properties. Strenx and Hardox serve different priorities: structural strength for Strenx and wear resistance for Hardox. A thinner design is not automatically safe; buckling, fatigue and welding calculations are required.
