Pickled hot-rolled sheet: pickling, oiling and DD11–DD14
Distinguishing surface treatment from grade: cleaning hot-rolled steel and selecting forming grades.
Sources checked:Understand the Material
HRP refers to hot-rolled sheet with its mill scale removed by acid pickling. Tatmetal describes hydrochloric-acid cleaning, rinsing and a thin protective oil layer. This treatment does not turn the material into cold-rolled DKP sheet.
DD11, DD12, DD13 and DD14 are forming grades covered by EN 10111. An HRP product range may also include structural grades such as S235JR/S275JR/S355JR. The term HRP alone does not specify yield strength or suitability for deep drawing.
