Welded steel mesh: wire diameter, spacing and reinforcement selection
Read mesh geometry and grade separately, then match them to the reinforcement design.
Sources checked:Understand the Material
Welded steel mesh consists of straightened, cut steel wires joined at regular intervals by resistance / spot welding. For reinforced concrete, steel grade, ductility and weld properties are required as well as wire diameter and spacing.
Fişekçioğlu’s production description references TS 4559 and other international criteria. Do not assume that all standards are equivalent or that every mesh has the same strength class. Commercial Q/R markings alone do not define steel grade or safe load capacity.
Technical Properties
| Property | Check against the design |
|---|---|
| Geometry | Wire diameter and spacing in both directions |
| Sheet | Width, length and edge overhangs |
| Steel grade | Strength / ductility class on the certificate |
| Welds | Joint and testing requirements |
| Documentation | Applicable standard specified in the order |
Applications & Selection Notes
Reinforced-concrete slabs and designed reinforcement. Do not confuse fencing mesh with reinforcement mesh.
